THE BEST COACHES IN WAKE SPORTS

WELCOME TO FREEDOM WAKE PARK
WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN TO YOU?
For us, Freedom is about breaking free from the things that hold you back, hold you down, and limit you. Freedom is how you feel in the air and how you achieve your goals. Freedom is moving forward from old ways and becoming better today than you were yesterday.
ABOUT US
Wakeboarding and wakesurfing are about fun. When you’re having fun and you’re around people you enjoy, you will get the most out of your time on the water! Our two head coaches, Cobe and Tarah Mikacich, are icons in the water sports industry. Both top level riders themselves, they have the experience to bring you to the next level. They have received the Coach of the Year award two years in a row, and most recently Freedom Wake Park was named School/Camp of the Year by the WSIA! Our focus is providing you with the most enjoyable experience possible.
We play to our riders’ individual strengths and help them gain a better understanding of how each move works. We focus on the fundamentals of your riding, so that when you move on to harder tricks, you will learn them much more easily!
There are many great things about our set-up. We are located in Orlando, Florida, on our own private lake (no other boat traffic). The lake is large enough that we can run any direction on the lake and find calm water, which really helps with the learning process. The best thing about our school is that you’ll be working with great coaches that really care about each rider.
We offer instruction to all ages and skill levels for wakeboarding, wakesurfing, wake skating, and foiling! We use Malibu and Axis boats; we currently have an Axis A22 and a Malibu 25 LSV. You are welcome to bring your own equipment, or use our top of the line O’Brien boards.
Freedom Wake Park is located within 5-20 minutes of all major Orlando attractions: downtown, the Florida Mall, Performance Ski & Surf, the Orlando International airport, International drive, and the theme parks.

COBE MIKACICH
A legend in the sport, Cobe is one of the most energetic fun-loving guys you’ll meet. If he’s not on the boat, he’s surfing, or riding his road bike, or go-karting, or riding bmx, or building something no one else thought of!
Cobe grew up in Northern California and started wakeboarding at Donner Lake right as the sport was beginning. He moved to Orlando in the early 90’s. Cobe competed on the Pro Wakeboard Tour for 13 years. He had a successful road tour of coaching clinics for 11 years. He was the 2000 IWSF World Champion. At the 2013 Wake Awards he was presented with the Legend Award in Wakeboard (1 of only 10 in our sport).
Cobe is now the O’Brien Wakeboard Team Manager. He is the inventor of HANGTYTE and Drop N Fill. Cobe is the owner of the HANGTYTE and Drop N Fill patents.

TARAH MIKACICH
The World Wakeboard Council’s 2016 Female Rider of the Year! Tarah is personable, professional, and a great representative of women’s wakeboarding.
Tarah grew up in the water sports industry. Her parents owned & operated The Benzel Skiing Center, where she lived until age 10. She competed in water skiing for 15 years, winning many National and World Titles. She made the career change to wakeboarding in 2006.
Tarah still competes professionally, consistently landing herself on the Pro Women’s podium at international events, and in the overall wakeboard series. Tarah is the current Wake the Desert champion. In 2011 she won Female Move of the Year, and she is consistently ranked top 3 on the World Ranking List. Tarah strives to make a positive impact in the sport, coaching wakeboarders of all ages and skill levels, and hosting instructional web videos.

MIZUKI TAKAHASHI
Raised in Osaka, Japan, Mizuki moved to Orlando, Florida at age 15. He lived and trained with Cobe and Tarah Mikacich at Freedom Wake Park.
If you’ve ever spent any time around him, you know he loves being on the water, and his joy is contagious! Mizuki (Zooks) is pure laughter and happiness, and sharing his knowledge of watersports is one of his greatest strengths. Zooks has been wakeboarding since he was 8 years old. Now he rides professionally, with many podium and top 10 finishes internationally. He even won the Pro Card event 2x, right here at Freedom Wake Park!

TYLER WORRALL
Born and raised in Clermont, Florida, Tyler started wakeboarding at 5 years old, and competing at age 6. Over the years, he has collected 3 National titles, and many international podiums in Jr. Pro Men.
Tyler is currently enrolled at the University of Central Florida and working towards a career as commercial pilot. But to watch him ride, you’d never know he spent more than a minute off his wakeboard! Tyler clearly has a passion not just for riding, but also for sharing his love of the sport, helping riders achieve their goals on the water!

SHAKA & BRUMOS
Our welcome committee, here to greet you every time you walk down the dock. Shaka & Brumos have been in the boat ever since the first days we adopted each of them. They tag along for just about every lesson and will either cheer you on or just take naps during your rides.
We adopted them from two different rescues a couple years apart. It has been suggested that they are some combination of Australian Shepherd, Catahoula, Koolie, and even Husky. We don’t know! But they are two of the sweetest, most affectionate boat pups you’ll ever meet!
What are you waiting for?
